• Dona Ana Animal Control recently received 37 Chihuahuas from a local hoarding situation. Unfortunately, due to limited space at the county shelter, some animals would have had to be euthanized. DAGSHIP Rescue stepped up and managed to take in 11 of these pups which arrived at our rescue site on July 25. We'd love for the public to step up and help with the overcrowding at our local county shelter.

• The most recent adoption event was on Saturday, May 9 at the Marshall's & Harbor Freight parking lot. The event was a huge success with eleven animals adopted and nearly $1,500 in donations, sales and vendor fees. John Kreibel from KDEM FM played music and the Magician donated the tips from his show. A big "thank you" to BEKA & SHERYL.

• DAG was invited to the annual Cancer Support group's Celebration of Life on May 2.  Six animals were adopted at the event in Voier's "Pit" Park. Our shelter co-directors, Beka and Sheryl, never miss an opportunity to help animals find their forever homes.
