ABOUT US

Deming Animal Guardians (DAG) is an all volunteer, 501(c)3 IRS recognized
charity that has been in existence since 1991, EIN #01-0776195.
During that time, we have sponsored more than 12,750
spay/neuter surgeries, with 620 spay/neuter surgeries occurring in 2017,

which includes 196 feral cats. Our focus is indigent pet owners in Luna County, New Mexico.  Our goal is to improve the lives of these animals by making spay/neuter surgeries more affordable through discount coupons and mobile veterinary vans.
Since Luna County has a high population of indigent pet owners,
we target low-income pet owners only.

Note:  June 20, 2018 it was reported that Deming NM is among the 30 poorest towns in America with a population of 1,000 to 25,000.Our poverty rate is 32.1%.
It was also reported that the median household income in Deming is $26,044 compared to the typical American household income of $55,322. This puts Deming at #24 on the list of poorest towns according to 24/7 Wall Street, who reviewed household income data from the
US Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.

Our goal is to reduce the number of euthanasias at the local shelter by making responsible pet ownership a reality for low income pet owners.
