For 33 years Deming Animal Guardians (DAG) has worked to alleviate animal suffering in the Luna County area through a variety of programs and services. 

Our 2023 statistics show that we have:

​15,507 hours of volunteer time which is equal to 7.7 full time employees
655 spay/neuter surgeries sponsored 
13,261 lbs. of pet food distributed to the public
645 vaccinations sponsored at Veterinary offices
                                                        ​320 animals taken into our rescues with a 98% Live Release Rate                                                                                                       (adoptions + transfers/all outcomes including deaths and euthanasias)

We also sponsor visits of spay/neuter clinics.

DAG operates the only Trap-Neuter-Return program in the county which addresses feral cat overpopulation. In addition, we operate an emergency pet food bank which allows indigent owners to retain their pets and channels them into our spay/neuter programs.
